The objectives of the project lie in the following three areas:
Exploration of an energy-flexible plus-energy new build "Plus-Base"
- Plus-energy concept for new university building "Plus-Base"
- Energy and LCC optimisation of the design
- Quantification of innovative energy flexibility options
- Strengths and weaknesses analysis of the measures and variants considered
- Presentation of the interfaces with the neighbourhood, users, urban and energy planning and energy suppliers
- Creation of a decision-making basis for the realisation of this plus-energy demonstration building
Exploring this new university building as a "living lab"
- Identification of the framework conditions for the successful implementation of a living lab in the academic research and teaching context
- Needs assessment within the relevant higher education landscape, including higher technical colleges and general secondary schools
- Conceptualisation of the Plus-Base Living Lab, taking into account adapted forms of teaching and a vision for R&D projects
Exploring development paths towards a "Plus-Energy Campus" at the site
- Development of possible development scenarios for the neighbourhood into a "Plus-Energy-Campus" with the involvement of neighbourhood stakeholders
- Needs analysis: recording the specific requirements of the neighbourhood stakeholders for the campus
- Development of energy-flexible, grid-friendly neighbourhood solutions including mobility
- Quantification of the economic and ecological potential of plus-energy neighbourhood development with a focus on energy flexibility & climate adaptation
